A Day In Country Victoria

As I’ve described in the review for the Hanging Rock show, my visit to country Victoria was very brief — pretty much just long enough to get to the show, crash somewhere for the night and drive back to the airport next morning. Of course just because I was only there for a little while doesn’t mean there wasn’t something to photograph.

Not far from Hanging Rock, the sleepy little town of Macedon is actually quaint and beautiful almost to the point of seeming unreal. Here’s the green and leafy main street … yes, this is “the big smoke” in Macedon:

A storefront I spotted in Macedon. It’s called the Horn and Bike, so what do you think they sold? Yep, obviously it’s a cafe … which was closed:

Aussies are justly famous for their laconic sense of humour … someone must have won an Australia Day award for this piece of work:
